From 17 to 26 January 2025, around 300 specialist discussions, panels and seminars will make Grüne Woche the meeting place for experts from all over the world and bring the most important topics relating to food, agriculture and horticulture to the table
As the leading international trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture, Grüne Woche offers an important platform for current industry topics at the start of 2025. 17th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA)
15 – 18 January 2025, CityCube Berlin
The motto of the 2025 GFFA is ‘Shaping a sustainable bioeconomy’. Bioeconomy uses raw materials from agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, organic raw materials, insects and microorganisms to become less dependent on fossil fuels. The aim of the GFFA is to work together to find ways to strengthen food security, combat the worsening climate crisis, promote innovation and create a fair framework for a sustainable bioeconomy. Agriculture ministers and experts from all over the world will join Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir in discussions.
The highlight of the GFFA is the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference on Saturday, 18 January 2025, at which around 70 agriculture ministers from all over the world are expected to attend.
Farmers’ Forum 2025

‘Future on the plate – future of agriculture?’ – this question is the focus of the Farmers’ Forum organised by the German Rural Women’s Association. Agriculture is facing major changes: Sustainability, health awareness and ethical demands are characterising the change. New structures are needed, particularly in animal husbandry, in order to combine animal welfare, profitability and climate protection. Stable framework conditions and creative solutions are needed to ensure that agriculture remains fit for the future. The rural women want to discuss the future of food and agriculture with the participants. German Farmers’ Association forums

Experts from the agricultural sector will talk about the future of the dairy industry, the next chapter of the energy transition, nature restoration and the model of nature conservation cooperatives in the German Farmers’ Association’s expert forums. Interested parties can follow the expert forums via livestream. Due to limited seating capacity, prior registration on the website of the German Farmers’ Association is required for on-site participation.
22nd International Congress for Renewable Mobility – Fuels of the Future
20 & 21 January 2025, CityCube Berlin
More than 600 international experts from industry, science, research and politics will come together at the ‘Fuels of the Future’ congress, which this year will be held under the motto ‘Refuelling for climate protection, sustainable on the road’.
In almost 20 sessions, experts will talk about topics such as quality control and certification, but will also shed light on the entire transport sector, from green waterways, climate-friendly road transport and renewable fuels in aviation to green power in the field – biofuels in agriculture and forestry.

Regional Star 2025

Sustainable regional concepts are the focus of the Regional Star Award, which is presented annually as part of the Grüne Woche. It honours regional concepts from the food trade that are not only new and innovative, but also leave a positive ecological footprint and offer added value – for customers and the environment.
Startup Days 2025
21 & 22 January 2025, Grüne Woche Stage – Home Green Home, Hall 27
Young and dynamic startups from the agtech and food industry will present their innovative solutions and products at the Startup Days. Almost 30 startups have applied for the Startup Days 2025, and a jury of experts has selected the 10 most exciting and innovative solutions that will pitch at the Grüne Woche. The Startup Days programme will be rounded off with sessions on financing, leadership, recycling and the use of AI in startups.
18th Future Forum Rural Development 2025
22 & 23 January 2025, CityCube Berlin
The Future Forum, which is organised by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture as part of the Grüne Woche, will focus on the general topic of ‘Participation, democracy and cohesion in rural regions’ in 2025. In 30 specialist forums, topics such as the participation of children and young people in rural areas, the diverse influence of the church and diversity in rural eastern Germany will be discussed. The ‘BULEplus’ funding programme for strengthening rural areas will also be discussed as part of the Future Forum.

Grüne Woche Business Days
22 January 2025, Grüne Woche Stage – Home Green Home, Hall 27
The Grüne Woche Business Days are the meeting place for the agricultural and food industry. Both digitally (14, 15, 29 and 30 January 2025) and live on site at the Grüne Woche (22 January), interested parties and experts can exchange ideas and network. The Grüne Woche Business Days are organised with the Enterprise Europe Network Berlin-Brandenburg. Around 100 participants from over 30 countries have already registered.

Stage programme complements specialist forums
It is also worthwhile for trade visitors to take a look at the other exhibition halls. For example, guests can look forward to an extensive programme of specialist presentations and discussion panels on the stages of the federal states or from the Forum Modern Agriculture at ErlebnisBauernhof or the Federal Association of the German Food Industry. At the AdventureFarm, for example, various future trails were organised around animals, nature and technology. The Bund der Deutschen Landjungend (BDL) will be focussing on food diversity and inviting visitors to the show kitchen for information, action and discussion. The Grüne Woche Stage – Home Green Home has moved to Hall 27. There, well-known influencers will discuss topics such as the environment, nutrition and sustainability with trade fair guests and prepare suitable dishes.
