Since the 21st of October 1976, the Company carries forward the philosophy of its founder and from that first day Mr. Angelo Ruggeri has always been convinced that the winning solutions must be in minimizing ploughing through conservative agriculture and minimum tillage.
A Company that has leapt forward in innovative agriculture, with a focus in maintaining and remaining faithful to its fundamental values. Those values which become decisive and unique in the agricultural sector allowing them to distinguish themselves from the competition.
The founder’s daughters, Serena and Olha Ruggeri are the second generation in this successful Company and are the next chapter of this amazing and emotional story of growth, maintaining the values such as FAMILY, UNION & RESPECT for all their Clients and Collaborators with a focus on the protection of our environment.
This year MA/AG celebrate their 45th year of existence and service to the sector and we interviewed Ms. Serena Ruggeri and asked her to tell us the story, the key steps, the news and the future projects of this family.
Which are the main values of the Company since its conception?
“Family, union and respect of all are the fundamental aspects, constantly present in our approach to our business.
The Company started with two people and today we are a Company of 50 families. The personal relationships are the leitmotif of our Company, with a clear vision, which is the added value from a commercial perspective.
In the 80’s, MA/AG presented to the market something different, something unique and innovative. It was the period of ploughs and rotary harrows. We introduced equipment for a less invasive ploughing method which, guarantees an elevated productivity and less destructive impact on the soil and the environment.
Thanks to this, the preparation of the soil has changed from five consolidated passages to only one creating operational efficiency through with a substantial reduction of the costs for fuel, manpower, wearing spare parts.”
Forty-five years of activity. What is your secret?
“Our attitude to design and create innovative equipment that allows the farmer to solve problems and needs of an ever growing and demanding market.
The start was rather difficult but fortunately in the early 90s, the agronomic theory changed, focusing the attention more on the impact and land exploitation with the clear objective of protecting the environment.
For us it was easy adaptation because it fits perfectly in our philosophy and the natural thought process of our Company.
MA/AG has always gone that extra mile with its perseverance and tenacity rewarding us on the long term.”
What has made the Company so innovative and a point of reference in the agricultural panorama?
“Every day we are continuously in contact with our partners and carefully monitor the needs in the fields allowing us to be recognized as a Company that always introduces new and innovative ideas.
Forty-five years of experience in this sector means a lot. We consider ourselves a small reality, but our flexibility and fast adaptation allows us to always be ready to change or modify our production, according to the demands of our clients.
It is very important to be able to listen to the farmers’ need and create the necessary machines.
The close collaboration with our network of dealers and the farmers leads to the winning solutions.”
What does the close collaboration allow you to do?
“The possibility of understanding the needs allows us to create tailor made equipment for our clients and therefore be recognized as specialists in minimum tillage and conservative agriculture in many countries.
This happens in New Zealand, Sudan, UAE, Zimbabwe, Ghana and other countries all over the world…
Deep relationships that develop into new machines, born from our experience and the modifications required for adapting the tools to their fields.”
What about the actual market and future projects?
“We have lots of ideas and we like to proceed step by step. What is very important for us is the creation of client loyalty in order to maintain and increase our working relationships.
Italy keeps on covering a good portion of our market, but more than the 50% of our turnover is the export market with our overseas partners.
Our future is a major focus in those areas where food security is a priority such as Africa and the Middle East and this is the reason why the importance of this announcement.”
