Showcasing European fruits and vegetables at the worlds largest annual F&B event, live cooking sessions broadcasted on social media and hosting European fruit workshops – CSO has spread la dolce vita throughout the UAE.
CSO Italy, the Italian fruit and vegetable cooperative, proved how la dolce vita can be perfectly lived in Dubai through European fruits and vegetables.
Looking back over the last 6 months, the European fruits and vegetables showed a strong flourishing in the UAE. Between November 7-9, CSO participated in the Specialty Food Festival in Dubai during which Italian companies, including Apofruit and Oranfrizer, (Unifrutti Group), showcased a range of products, such as apples, kiwis, artichokes and citrus fruit fresh juices grown and harvested from across Italy. The Specialty Food Festival was the ideal opportunity to reconnect with a range of chefs, restaurateurs, hospitality buyers and other F&B professionals. As part of the two companies (Apofruit and Oranfrizer) participation at the event, representatives from both companies took the centre stage at the Taste of the World Chef Theatre on which a series of masterclasses and demos were given. It was a first-hand experience of the taste and how the fruits and vegetables can be used in various dishes which has been even more entertaining through the television style setup and the passionate animations.
As exciting as CSO ended 2021, the Italian fruit and vegetable cooperative started into 2022. On January 26th, just a few days ago, CSO hosted a very Italian day, which was characterised by two workshops that took place at Top Chef Dubai. Both workshops focused on the European kiwifruit and the European apple that are both currently available in Dubai. The participants were food bloggers and influencers from Dubai, who have a passion for cooking, good food and artistic and tasteful presentation.
The first workshop was held by the Italian Chef Aira Piva. He perfectly knows the specifics of the two fruits. He taught the participants two recipes that enable the fruits’ flavours to perfectly flourish and make the pies as delicious as they look.
The European fruit pie workshop was followed by the fruit mocktail workshop. Nana Sechere, mixologist with is known as one of the premier Instructors and Beverage Professionals in the region. He perfectly knows how to create delicious mocktails with a twist. His three creations for the workshop were:
- Hazel Highball – A kiwi, ginger & hazelnut twist
- Kenyan Coffee Martini – A natural pairing between kiwi, apple and cold brew mokha pairing
- Roman Fizz – A divine and delicious mocktail dedication to the apple
During the two workshops, the characteristics of the fruits and their nutritional value were elaborated through the different recipes and combinations of the foods that are possible.
Beyond that, it was possible to express the freshness of the European fruits and what they stand for. With such workshops, the participating foodies are accompanied through a whole journey where they learn facts and information about the European fruits and vegetables which they share with their community. They also understand what the products have to offer – and how to enjoy la dolce vita with European fruits and vegetables in Dubai!
