Evanthia, the Dutch specialist in breeding, production, and sales of ornamental crops, is taking an important step in its continued growth and professionalization. After twelve years of strong development and international expansion, the company is splitting into two independent entities: Evanthia Flowers B.V. and Evanthia Tropical B.V.
This move marks a new phase in Evanthia’s strategic growth. In recent years, the organization has evolved into a versatile player with a broad portfolio of cut flowers, flowering pot plants, and tropical plants. With customers in more than 60 countries and a continuously expanding assortment, this growth calls for greater focus, efficiency, and market-driven management.
The activities within Flowers and Tropical each have their own dynamics, customer approach, and logistics chain. By positioning both divisions independently, we create room for further specialization, acceleration, and customer focus,” says Henk Jacobs, Managing Director of Evanthia.
Two companies, one vision
The current Evanthia B.V. will continue under the name Evanthia Tropical B.V., focusing on sourcing, production, and delivery of tropical plants and seeds. The activities of the Flowers division, dedicated to breeding cut flowers and flowering pot plants from seed, will be housed in the new company Evanthia Flowers B.V. Both companies will continue to collaborate under the shared vision: “Together we lay the foundation, from seed to success.”
Targeted growth and innovation
With this structural reinforcement, Evanthia is preparing for the next growth phase. Both Flowers and Tropical will have the space to further develop within their respective markets—with a targeted commercial focus, international expansion, and continuous investment in innovation, breeding, and sourcing.
“Our organization is growing in size, but also in maturity. This step enables us to serve our customers even better, respond faster, and further strengthen the unique value of our brands,” the management states.
Both companies will present themselves together at the upcoming trade fairs:
- IPM Essen 2026 (DE) – January 27–30
- IPM Beijing 2026 (CN) – April 10–12
- Flower Trials Westland 2026 (NL) – June 9–12
