We all see cows scratching from time to time on trees, fences or barn walls and structures. This natural behaviour for a cow is part of its ethology and fulfills several functions: eliminating certain parasites or dirt, relaxing muscles, stimulating blood circulation all leading to activity that is satisfactory for her well-being.
In the pasture, there is no shortage of options. Trees and fence posts, for example, are naturally suitable for rubbing. Dairy Scratchy is a rubber attachment that has a total height of 1.50m (59 inches). Studs are located on the upper section (1m or 39 inches) and the lower part (0.50m or 20 inches)) is smooth so as not to injure the hocks of the animals.
