The ISO-12140 standard applies to mechanically or hydraulically operated telescopic jacks used for supporting and lifting agricultural equipment and machinery. It specifies the functional, safety and reliability requirements, the needed marking information and it establishes the test procedures for certification of compliance. The SIMOL-Q range jacks must undergo extensive mechanical, longevity and functionality strength testing to comply with the ISO code and ensure top class function, safety and reliability.
For this purpose, SIMOL has started a collaboration with the University of Bologna to design and build a test rig that allows the Italian company to try out the extreme performance of its jacks directly at its facilities, subjecting them to the strength tests established by the International Organization for Standardization.
These newest top-class jacks feature the latest SIMOL’s technological innovations, namely the double speed system and the drop leg safety system, which are two international patented solutions. Already applying to the DG-W models (SIMOL’s high-end line, chosen by the leading OEMs of agricultural trailers, round balers and trailed machinery for multiple uses), the double-speed system is a special device for rapid gear change system, offering a 70% reduction of deployment time and a 10% reduction of the force required to raise the load.
The drop leg safety system specifically features the drop leg jack models: this innovative device is completely integrated in the jack third section, with the aim to avoid any inconvenience due to a traditional outer chain mechanism (such as the risks of entanglement, wear-and-tear, loss, or theft). Fitting a SIMOL-Q jack means offering so an even greater guarantee of safety, resistance, and highest level of performance: during testing, specific stresses that apply to using the jacks were fully simulated to guarantee robustness and reliability.
Moreover, through its exclusive test rig, SIMOL can improve existing products and bring them into compliance with ISO-12140 as well as develop customised solution to meet any load requirement. Aside from the innovative test rig, Simol’s manufacturing facilities incorporate advanced production technology, such as latest generation fibre laser cutting.
